Weber Shandwick offices across Asia Pacific are getting ready to
expand their cultural insights as they participate or host colleagues
from around the region. In July, Weber Shandwick launched the Asia
Pacific Exchange Program, a new regional initiative which will give
colleagues a taste for a different market and culture as well as
help to further their experience and skills.
This years winners, who were nominated by their managing directors
based on business rationale and individual merit, have the opportunity
to travel to another office in Asia Pacific for at least two weeks.
The program has already proven to be a valuable experience. Nea
Ferrier, an account supervisor in the Hong Kong corporate and technology
team has already participated in the program and traveled to Japan:
"I have worked "virtually" with a number of Japanese
colleagues over the last couple of years so the chance to meet them
face-to-face was wonderful. The exchange helped me gain a deeper
understanding of the Japanese market as well as differences and
similarities in the challenges and opportunities that we all face
as PR professionals."
